El Stig as a Rally spectator.

The Rally Innovations Team had a race at Ridge Crest, CA. The teams 2.5rs Impreza placed 4th over all but placed 1st in its class. They competed against a high horse powered off road Ford rally truck; a well boosted Impreza WRX STi, and nicely tuned DSM (eclipse) with a crazy suspension set up. RI was very competitive with its rivals. One of their competitors was an Automatic 2.5rs Impreza with a wide body kit pulling a lot of horse power. They came in 5th over all. Not bad for an automatic, then again it did place 5th and behind a NA car. The Teams car was pulling some decent lap times and in each lap the team kept getting faster and faster. At one point they beat their lap time by 1/100 of a second. Haha Not bad.

Rally Innovations brought their Evolution X time attack car to the event. It got some attention when it arrived and throughout the day. A lot of questions were asked and people admired it. Not only did the Evo X get attention but as well as the Impreza rally car Rally Innovations has. The car had its own fan wagon with spectators taking pictures of both the Evolution X and the Impreza. I as an intern, passed out a few flyers and got acquainted with the spectators and passed out the word of the Rally Innovations team. They loved the cars. It’s nice to have Rally Innovations bring out a crowd full of attention.

The Stig's 1st ever interview.

My British cousin was at his 1st ever press conference in New Zealand. Here is his video of the conference.

It is now known that The Stig (White) is bothered about the possibility of The Stig (black) making a comeback on the show, at this conference. In other good news, we all now know what his favorite beer is.

Rhys Millen’s 2009 Drift Car.

The 2008 SEMA Hyundai Genesis RMR had on display, has been stripped down and rebuild to possibly be Rhys Millens 2009 Formula D Drift Car.

RMR tossed the inline-4 turbo engine in favor of the Genesis optional 3.8L V6 "Lambda" engine. In addition they upped the engine up to 4.1 liters. Added a turbo and should be producing 550hp and 520 lb ft of torque. Equipped with a HKS 5-speed sequential gearbox.

Fitted with Enkie wheels at 18x8.5" at the front and 18x9.5" at the rear. Covered with 225/40/40R18 at the front and 265/40R18 at the rear with Toyo Proxes R1R tires.

The new Genesis Coupe looks like it’s going to be a promising car for tuner monkeys to play around with. I know it's the perfect car for the market for those who are concerned with the economy. It's a cost-effective RWD sports car that anyone can buy with change left over for mods!. Starting at $22,000 is not all that bad for a inline-4 Turbo producing 210hp. If you want more power for you money, add another $3,000 and go for the V6. Also Hyundai has the “Certainty in Uncertain Times” program where if you get laid off, lose your license, physical disability, and accidental death, are able to give back the car without having to worry about negative equity.

I see this to be a good replacement for the 240sx. I know it’s not a Nissan, but still. Nissan and Toyota have both stop making affordable sports cars the past few years. Sure the 370Z is their but its pricing is past the $28k mark. So it’s a good come back for something affordable and playful. It’s neither SR nor a VQ that tuners monkeys are familiar with, but it seems like Rhys likes it, along with a lot of car reviewers and testers.

CRS Rally: Plan B: Rally Innovations

The end of January also marked the beginning of the 2009 California Rally Series season. Fresh from a 2008 class victory, Team Rally Innovations packed up the car and left for the first event of the season – Plan B rally in Ridgecrest, CA.

With some fresh parts and a lighter chassis, driver Kevin Welker and Nolan Sambrano quickly found a rhythm and stuck with it throughout the day. Their quickest time was posted on stage 2 clocking in at 7 minutes 22 seconds, and held second place overall for an extended period during the day.

When asked about his hopes and aspirations for the upcoming season, Welker responded, "I'm feeling very optimistic about the 2009 season. We've got a great team and service crew and of course I'd be lost without my trusty co-driver, Nolan." Kevin and Nolan finished 1st in the two classes they were running, CRS PGT and Open Light- a brand new class in the Rally America series, and even beat out their turbocharged competitor. The team placed 5th overall behind 3 rally trucks and a Camaro, all with V8's. The next event will be held back in Ridgecrest at the Area 51.1 motor sports facility for the High Desert Trails Rally on February 20th and 21st, 2009.

Y's Factory BMW M5 Response

In the summer of 2008 Y's Factory tuned a BMW Hamman M5 for Tsukaba Circuit and added their fine touch for the time attack. In the beginning of Feburary the Y's Factory BMW M5 was released onto the internet with alot of disregard. The response was phenominal, with comments such as:

Oh my God, it's so ****ing ruined

That is the first ever riced out BMW
and
[X] park-bench rear wing [X] fart-can exhaust [X] excessively-lowered suspension [X] eye-wateringly-bright racing seats [X] Type-RRRR/SPARCO/GREDDY/NAWZ go-fast stickers [ ] gaudy paint color

Uh oh... they missed one option on the Rice-It™ option sheet!

The car started out as a Hamman M5 and tuned to circuit specs, with the addition to a rear diffuser, rear gt spoiler, Project Mu brakes, and larger exahust. The time for the car is 1 minute 6 seconds compared to Keiichi Tsuchiya's Arta NSX top record of 51.875 seconds at Tsukaba Circuit.

ワイズファクトリーが約3ヶ月の製作期間を経てHAMMAN M5からサーキット仕様に変更し た車輌。

"The wise factory passing the production period of approximately 3 months, the car which from HAMMAN M5 modifies in circuit specification 輌."

内装もバケットシートに変わり、HAMMANパーツはほぼ全てを取り外し、タイヤはインチダウ ン。
ほとんどのパーツがワンオフ製作。
テストのため筑波サーキットのフリー走行に行ってきました。

"Also interior to change to the bucket seat, the HAMMAN part almost to remove everything, as for the tire inch down. Most parts one off production. Because of the test it went to free travelling of the Tsukuba circuit."

気温33度 1分6秒かるーくでて驚きです!
クリップ使って全開すれば うしし・・ 笑

サーキットに最適な気候となる日和となる今後に乞うご期待です!

"Air temperature 33 degree 1 minute 6 seconds you drive, - the [ku] coming out, it is the surprise! The clip using, if it opens fully, the [u] doing to do, the laughing circuit it is 乞 [u] expectation in the future when it becomes the day harmony which becomes the climate which is optimum to!"
What most people don't realize that this car was tuned for a specific purpose, I can't really blame those uneducated ignorant opinions, they probably just don't know any better, it's okay one day you will join the ranks of a monkey-tuner and understand the purpose...

Breaking News. Top Gear USA has been canned.

According to Clarkson at an interview in Australia, Americans just don't get it. There for Top Gear USA been canceled.

It looks like Adam, Eric, and Tanner wont be showing the US the best show... in the world after all. No word has been out of Adam sense he has been left out in the cold when NBC decided not to take the show in fear of it being horrible. Kind of like its show Knight Rider.

I always agree with what Clarkson has to say but this time I can agree and disagree with him. I'm sure he got "we just didn't get it" was from someone in the NBC office. That's just my opinion. If a broadcasting company gives it a no, they speak for all of us. That's just not right. I like how they re-air an old Show like Knight Rider and that is doing poorly rather than air a fresh new show, like Top Gear. Where it could help NBC and a lot of auto manufactures here in the States.

A recent blog has shown that when Top Gear Live is in town, people actually go buy cars right after the show. Not just affordable cars but super cars as well. Just think how Top Gear America would help out here in the States. Top Gear does a few reviews on which is the best fuel efficient economic and super car out in the market. Americans here don't know how to spend their money. I go out driving to work and school everyday and where I live I see people driving the most pointless and useless cars I've ever seen. I see nothing but gas guzzling SUV's and lifted Pick Up Trucks that are clean and not a smudge of dirt on them. Maybe its because gas has gone down, but the more and more I've been looking at it and the way gas has been going back up, people aren't getting rid of them. There's more to life than being very up high in truck telling everyone you have a very small penis. I'm sure if Top Gear USA was here, they would set them straight. But that's just my opinion.
